I tried 3 other hoof nippers, 2 of them name brand, pricey, and highly recommended. Not one pair were sharp enough to cut through my horse's hooves. These really delivered. They cut through cleanly on both horses without my having to apply a lot of additional pressure. They are a manageble size and seem to be well made. So glad to have found these.
Nice nippers been using them for a year nice and sharp.
Holding up well under light use. Sharp and reasonably well made. Not GEs, but not priced like them.
I don't use this on the farm. I'm a sheet metal worker. This tool is essential for duct work. This is the perfect length, not too long, or too short. You can pull drive ears and knock drive on with ease. It's wide enough that drives can slide by too.
Smaller size makes it easier to handle, works great! I use it for my fully grown pigs and my horses! Love it
I use these to nip the spur on the back of the horses front legs. Easy to use and store.
If you are a sheet metal worker these are the ones to buy. Opening is over 1" and very thin mouth so its extremely easy to use.
Newbie at using nippers and boy were they easy to use!I am NOT a professional nor intend to use these in any sort of professional capacity. I got them so I can keep my animals hooves looking decent until I can get my farrier out.
I've been using those for over 6 months now on my one medium-small horse which I trim every 2-4 weeks (so don't need to take off a LOT of hoof wall at a time) and I have nothing bad to say about them. People who give those bad reviews forget how much "real" proffessional nippers cost. They do what they are supposed to just fine.
Nice and sharp but I should have gotten the 15 inch size
I have small hands and this one fit me perfectly whereas longer ones are more difficult to use. Super sharp when they arrived so I could use them straight away instead of having to sharpen them first.
Purchased these to trim my piggy’s hooves, they’re sharp and make this rough job much easier. Excellent purchase
These have narrow pinchers and you can be very accurate it your trim. They are made of high carbon steel, which is a good thing, but rust will appear. Just keep a light coat of vegetable oil on them when not in use and wipe clean when ready to use. Mine have served me well. Check out ELPO hoof mapping and videos on how to trim, on YouTube. You will avoid a lot of mistakes and do right by your horse or pony.
